Presstressing
Prestressing of a beam by using post-tensioning
- Studied structure: continuous beam with 2 spans and prestressing tendon
- Mechanic behaviour: linear elastic (for this example)
- Boundary conditions:
middle support beam and blocked rotation in both end cross-sections
- Load: presstressing by post-tensioning
Objectives: Simulate continuous tensioning of a concrete beam by using a prestressed cable that follows a curved path. The model takes account of the BAEL standards allowing estimating prestress losses due to instantaneous deflection, line and curve friction, as well as anchorage springback.
- 3D mesh of the beam, and deflection after prestressing
-
- State of stress in concrete
